JDoEiga Matsuri: Japanese drama & movie festival

Philippine Fan gathering to celebrate Japanese drama & movies

The first time I got to a JDoramaEiga PH event is when they held a block screening of Itoshi no Irene at Robinsons Galleria as part of the QCinema Film Festival last year. Guess what: They even got the lead Cebuana actress Nats Sitoy to join in the screening, and a Q&A was done afterwards.

Now, they sent me an email telling me more about their first fan gathering for this year, JDoEiga Matsuri which will happen this April.

They have a lot of activities in store, as follows:

JDoEiga Matsuri aims to highlight the overflowing love and passion of Filipino fans for Japanese live-action visual media culture through fan booths, contests and character cosplay.

Guests can expect fun and festive activities such as JDoEiga Uta Nodojiman, a singing contest featuring Japanese drama and live-action theme songs;

Koi Dance Challenge, a dance contest showcasing the hit song “Koi” (Love) by Gen Hoshino from the Japanese drama We Married as a Job (popularly known as NigeHaji);

JDoEiga Cosplay Party where participants can dress up as their favorite Japanese drama or movie characters;

and JDoramaEiga Quiz Bee, where fans can test their knowledge on the classic and latest Japanese dramas and movies.

Various fan clubs, Japanese culture-related merchants, and sponsors will be actively participating in this one-of-a-kind event, which will also feature special performances from esteemed guest contest judges.

The first JDoEiga Matsuri will be held on April 7, 2019, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at VentureSpace PH, 2/F CBC Corporate Center, 724 Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City (This is just in front of Worldwide Corporate Center, and a walking distance from Starmall EDSA-Shaw).
