Shangri-la Plaza — 25 Jun 2016

So earlier, I stopped by the Shangri-la Plaza Mall (after I attended a seminar), and I saw this exhibit by Rustan’s and the National Commission on the Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

What really tickled my fancy in the exhibit is the salakot, which is made from half of a gourd. I’ve seen the salakot before in IBC-13’s award-winning “Pinoy ang Dating” opening billboard. I don’t know if it’s really called a salakot but it’s a hat that’s common to Filipinos starting from the Spanish colonial times.

The exhibit also features BenCab’s designs in pillows and mugs, so if you have time, come check the exhibit. They are at the Atrium of the Main Wing until Thursday, 30 July.
