It’s my first time to be in Singapore, and I’m really happy to be there to witness the 10th year anniversary of Anime Festival Asia, C3AFA Singapore 2018.
It’s been so long since I wrote a story here, so let me take the opportunity to file this story on the WCS Singapore preliminaries on a personal tone.
When it was announced that Rithe (who has visited Cosplay Carnival in the Philippines early this year) will join this qualifier with Kai, I quickly bet my decision that they will win this one.
At that time, I was sure that Rithe, who has visited London, including the tomb of King Arthur, will make it with with her tag-team partner, sheer effort and guts.
I’ve witnessed the qualifier on Day 3 with Karlonne Santos (he has participated in a WCS Philippines qualifier years ago), and as we get to the four pairs of the competition, he also has his own thoughts about the whole preliminaries.
Cells at Work. Splatoon. Fate/Stay night. Gundam Breaker. Four pairs performed on stage for the chance to represent Singapore in the 2019 World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya, Japan.
Of all the teams, Karlonne and I were fixated on the last two teams: Rithe & Kai, and Melanie Joanne & Gearchi. Both are impressive, belting out their efforts in making the crowd awe.
In the end, I’m still firm in my bet that the former will win this one. I was right.

Again, Congratulations to all the participants, especially to Rithe and Kai. Looking forward to your performance as you step into the WCS stage in Nagoya next year.
