Ooma at the BGC

Unlimited tea… and rice? Yes, rice.

T‘was a Saturday night and I just came from Davao to check out the Denki Megatech Convention at the Philippine Trade and Training Center in Pasay, only to step inside before 6pm and found out that the event ended way too early. What did I do next? I hang out with my friends at AniZone and they introduced me to this restaurant called Ooma at the Bonifacio Global City.

Their sushi set is quite expensive for a sushi shop, but what’s great about this is that they offer unlimited (roasted) tea and rice. Yes, rice, that one Hanayo Koizumi loves the most.

Part of the Moment Group of restaurants (which includes Din Tai Fung), Ooma’s concept is that of a fish market diner, but since they’re “Bold” and “New,” they’re not just a simple sushi diner.

Aside from unlimited tea and rice, they have an excellent hospitable staff which treats you like a friend. They will introduce themselves by name, and they will be your dedicated server that you can call if you need anything.

Overall, the experience is worth the hefty tag for each dish, but since you have unlimited rice there, you can actually treat the sushi or tempura as a viand. I rate this restaurant five stars.

Their BGC branch (Bonifacio High Street) is the third one (open from 11am to 1pm Mondays to Sundays) — the other two are at SM Megamall’s Fashion Hall and Rockwell Makati. Visit their Facebook for updates as well.
