More Jumping Hearts (and Jimo Ais)

…at the Aqours 2nd LoveLive! HAPPY PARTY TRAIN TOUR as it was seen by the local community WATCH THIS VLOG FIRST, then you can continue below. On this post, let me narrate the sights that I saw inside the Delayed Live Viewing. Sure, the aircon was no match for us (so much that I thought the theater was fitting the theater’s atmosphere to that of the MetLife Dome as Anju Inami asks the audience, “Did you sweat a lot?” ), but then again everyone inside the theater is ready — those opened light sticks and kingblades are really noticeable, attractive to the eye and exciting to the soul. ...

On the rebranding of the Philippines’ largest drugstore chain

On the rebranding of the Philippines’ largest drugstore chain I didn’t know TGP was actually established in the 1940s, but I know that whenever I go, there’s a branch nearby. I mean, look: 1,900+ branches nationwide selling generic medicines for cheap. TGP The Generics Pharmacy has spawned a lot of competitors, but I still rely on it to give me the medicines I need. After partnering with Robinsons Retail (with the group as the majority stakeholder), I saw a few noticeable results — aside from the inclusion of the Robinsons Retail brand in print ads, TGP has ditched its mortar-and-pestle logo and got a new typeface for its branding. ...

My Best of Anime 2017 Experience

So I was at the Best of Anime 2017 last Saturday at SMX Manila. This is the first time BoA separated from its mother event, the Manila International Book Fair. In lieu of BoA’s absence in the date of the Book Fair, a Fandom Fest is launched, catered to a different niche. If I have a single reason for why I was there, it’s STARMARIE (Non-chan oshi here), AniZone, and the icing in the cake which is @_satsunyan of the local dance cover group Seishun Kakumei. ...

Habal-habal is that cheat code we need but we don’t deserve

Some places don’t allow it, some says it’s risky, but it’s a desperate measure that can help us get away from the hell that is traffic Alright, people, settle down. Setting aside the risks of riding in motorcycles, it’s still indisputable that they help us getaway from the living, breathing hell that is the metro traffic. I rarely ride habal-habal due to the risks but when I need to, it means I’m running out of time and I don’t want to disappoint myself with the time that I have promised to others. ...

From Unli-Ramen to Karaoke on a Saturday

Happy Birthday, XyLoL! Two weeks ago, my good friend John Michael James (@xylolol) celebrated his birthday with Team Anizone in two places — Gokinjo in Marikina, and Karaoke Pop in Quezon City. As for me, I did a vlog documenting the wild ride. Read his review of Gokinjo here.

My bucket list at the Asia Pop Comicon Manila 2017 has been accomplished

Last Sunday, I was at SMX Manila for the Asia Pop Comicon with a list of things to do: See Shoji Kawamori of the Macross fame, meet the pair of Ping Ongand SJ de Ocampo of Team Eurika 愛, watch the live monster Serena Kozuki on stage, and visit the MNL48 booth; that’s how I revolved in. Thankfully, all of it had been accomplished. Even for me who is lacking sleep, my experience went well. My latest vlog says so. ...

Cosplay Fair at Vista Mall Taguig

It’s the Events Weekend once again, and I was already thinking of going to Greenhills to celebrate Chika Takami’s birthday together with Aqours Philippines when this came up: A Cosplay Event in Taguig City. I took this chance since I’m going to pass by the Felix Y. Manalo National Historical Landmark (which I did since the jeep passes there), and I was able to see cosplayer and acquaintance Sergio Sta. Ana leading the event as the organizer. Apparently, he has been running Tamiya 4WD matches in the mall, so it’s inevitable that he will go and be asked by the mall management to host a Cosplay event. ...

Otaku Expo Reload 2017

It’s been two weeks since I was at Megamall but it felt like I left the place for a long time as I go from one event to another throughout that time. Now that the events are over, it’s time to treat myself to Otaku Expo Reload 2017 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 1 and 2. ...
