#Back2Eating presents a new sushi hangout at the new Ayala Malls the 30th in Meralco Ave., Pasig I capped off the night by crashing in Chad’s (Reimaru Files) company at the new Ayala Malls the 30th in Meralco Avenue, Pasig for some delicious sushi at Genki Sushi. They deliver the food through carts (a la shinkansen), and the staff are there to make sushi, pick up the dishes on the table or assist in billing or what not. ...

Welcome to Digongland

I thank myself for remembering that there’s a special exhibit at the SM Megamall ART Center yesterday — and it so happens that it’s an exhibition by a supporter of President Duterte. It’s called “Adventures in Digongland,” featuring artworks not just related to President Duterte, but also to current events. The artworks are bizaare and quirky, but the descriptions posted beside these artworks are funny and witty. ...

Lack of other choices, or just a matter of recency?

The awards that Yuri!!! on Ice won at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards — Best Boy, Best Animation, Most Heartwarming Scene, Best Couple, Best Opening and Best Ending. [Full results on this Crunchyroll Forums post — Photos from Crunchyroll] What I (and hopefully others) think is wrong over this Crunchyroll Anime Awards brouhaha? So is the issue that people are discovering the Anime Awards is a popularity contest, not an objective measure of goodness, so they're mad? ...

“360” photos on my Facebook

If you might have noticed, I’ve been tinkering with 360 photos on Facebook. I’ve just posted my second photo there. There are two things that are important in making these photos: The size of the photo, and The metadata. Luckily, Facebook has very helpful resources on how to make ones from your Photoshop or GIMP. Best of all, it’s very easy — so easy that even meme pages can create their own set. ...

Here’s what I am expected to watch this Winter

Once again, Happy New Year! I have rarely written longer stuff nowadays, so on this free time that I have I shall discuss what I am expected to watch this Winter Anime Season. For further reference, you can check out Neregate’s image chart (or see AniChart or LiveChart). Akiba’s Trip the Animation What I always think about this series, aside from being a game adaptation, is that it’s the second season of one of my favorite industry-related titles Sore ga Seiyuu. (I’ve watched this just recently, FYI.) ...

If I didn’t check my Hummingbird, I wouldn’t knew they’ve changed

…for the better, that is. The last time I’ve checked my Hummingbird was a few months ago or so through a third-party Android app called Imprint (or its previous name Tenpenchii). I’m surprised that Hummingbird, by far the best in tracking my anime viewing habits, got VIZ Media’s (among others) support and turned into Kitsu.io. https://medium.com/heykitsu/hummingbird-is-dead-long-live-kitsu-bda6ccfbbcce?source=post_page-----17a47dde5080---------------------- So this is what Hummingbird has been talking about for what felt like a year or so, yes? ...

I joined in a podcast discussion after more than a year of absence

It’s been a long time since I joined a podcast — the last one was around September 2015 (Click on the photo to listen to the Episode on YouTube) Hi everyone!, Just right after 2017 kicks in, The Reimaru Files has finished uploading their Year-Ender Events Review, of which I am a guest analyst. We talked about local events in the country — I’d like to give you a heads-up that in the first part, I was pretty much murky and not in my proper consciousness discussing about TOYCON (of which I am part of its staff), but nevertheless I shifted to what I’d like to talk about the best — Anime-related events. ...

2016 in Anime Screenshots

To cap this year off, I decided to upload on my YouTube my 2016 anime screenshots. Compiled into GIFs then into a video, these images made my 2016 a bit better. Being thankful to the good times 2016 gave to me, I shall welcome the new year with a bang. Which screenshots filled your 2016? Tag me on Twitter (@JayAgonoy) or on Facebook (Keepsakes.)
