Cosplay Photoshoot @ Terra 28th — November 20, 2016 It’s Sunday. I was supposed to lay rest by this time, but I’m too stressed out to relax, so I wind off and went to Terra 28th at the Bonifacio Global City — it went on to be a good decision. The Yokatta Otaku United group organizes seasonal cosplay gatherings at the park, and what you are about to see is a recap of their 5th gathering. The admins of the group also cosplayed. Aside from YOU, I saw other groups doing their own photoshoots, which contributed to the crowd inside. To give you a perspective, I estimate that we occupied 1/8 the size of the park if compressed — but since this is a photoshoot, we used the park to its potential and covered its nook and cranny. ...

The annual convention season has kicked off louder in the month of October as Cosplay Mania 2016 is held at SMX Manila. I did a mini-project here with my friends in the community, based on what cosplayer Kelly did — we asked cosplayers who they’re cosplaying and who are they on weekdays. I was accompanied by Allineus (who handled the recording with his trusty iPad) and Emile from Whatsageek (who is a very chill guy). ...

The Loving Rainbow Garden is just near Commonwealth Avenue, and if you think of it, it’s just near the Iglesia ni Cristo Central Temple — that is if you’re going to walk. I think commuting by car is a bit of a hassle, but that is just me speaking without experiencing. ...

It’s been a long time since I attended a Cosplay.ph event, so it’s good to hear that they have one in Masinag. For the record, I was supposed to attend Cosplay Mania last year and watch Pile with the fans but due to the issue Deremoe (in which I am its Editor) had before, I was advised not to attend by friends. That same issue made Cosplay.ph’s head Pablo Bairan mention that we are blocked from acquiring media access for CosMania (in which I accept their decision wholeheartedly) as we always criticize their organization. ...

It’s been a long time since my last visit to the Philippine Cosplay Convention, and now that I’ve went there, here are some photos. Actually, I don’t have a lot of great images from the PCC. The thing is, this is the first time they’ve moved from the Midtown Atrium to the Orosa Atrium, which means that they’ve expanded a year after Cosplay.ph has withdrawn their partnership with its organizer, Hobby at Worx (then called Hobbiworx). ...

I have been in Cosplay competitions well enough for me to say that “Cosplay is SRS BSNS.” That’s our belief, and that’s what Deremoe shall believe. I’ve noticed a lot of Cosplay skits and I can tell you how I’m happy (or unhappy) I am even if the skit has just played for a measly 15 seconds… I guess the elders in the community know better than me, but that doesn’t mean that I can tolerate a specific set of skits. It’s been so long since the last time that I’ve talked about the Cosplay community in the country; and that, of course, won’t stop. When I got tipped of the news about the March 15 episode of GMA News TV’s magazine show Ang Pinaka listing out ten (10) Filipina Cosplayers, I made sure that I will watch. For this post, I will use a subjective stance. To begin with, the program’s panel include Marko Villaluz, Sam Beltran and Guy Singzon. Villaluz has participated the Cosplay Tournament of Champions as part of the Adventure Team years ago, wherein Singzon was among the hosts. Beltran wrote the “Top 20 Cosplayers to Watch Out for” article on When in Manila that drew the ire of yours truly. ...
