Man, this week had its highs and lows. Just yesterday, I was reeling away from the stress of handling simultaneous online events. Today, I was relieved of that stress and got myself back into shape. Also today, I learned of the term “meme stocks.” This, after investors at r/WallStreetBets (with its official Twitter Handle @wsbmod) rallied GameSpot’s stock and keeps holding it until now as we speak. The stock has blown up so much that I’ve been informed of controls in pushing for the said stock. Call it anything you want, but I understood that this is a story of the people - individuals, more so gamers (I’m confident I got this one right) - are fighting the establishment. ...

I’m getting too stressed with work these days that I want to distract myself from it. I’ll get back to work tasks once I’m satisfied. I kept scrolling on my news feed only to stumble upon an interview with Singaporean cosplayer Rea Kami on The Royal Singapore. I was halfway through it when I stopped and wrote another Desk Diary. It was not until recently that I learned of Rea as an outspoken person, and this interview she had is compelling. Best of all, she gives quite good laughs. To summarize, in her days in school, she said “she was just very slow when it came to social situations.” She then pulls up this Japanese phrase: 空気読よめない. Kuuki yomenai. KY. Can’t read the air. This past week, I went on like how Bruno Mars sang it: “Today I don’t feel like doing anything.” Just replace “today” with “this week.” Two weeks of work left my soul crashed, and find myself wanting to just stay in a corner and watch on YouTube. If you’re in the field of multimedia, programming or simply a multitasker, having only a single monitor is considered a sin - at least for me. I got used to having two monitors even in the office, which is why it’s hard not to use another monitor to edit.
