Cosplay Craze at Masinag, Antipolo — 10 April 2016

It’s been a long time since I attended a Cosplay.ph event, so it’s good to hear that they have one in Masinag. For the record, I was supposed to attend Cosplay Mania last year and watch Pile with the fans but due to the issue Deremoe (in which I am its Editor) had before, I was advised not to attend by friends. That same issue made Cosplay.ph’s head Pablo Bairan mention that we are blocked from acquiring media access for CosMania (in which I accept their decision wholeheartedly) as we always criticize their organization. ...

I’ve visited the Madrid Fusion Manila Expo at the SMX Manila, Pasay.

Just earlier, I’ve visited a big gastronomy event at the SMX, and it’s called Madrid Fusion Manila. Apparently, it’s the only Asian edition of the event. The 2016 Madrid Fusion Manila Expo at the SMX Convention Center — Manila in Pasay City showcases a lot of food products from the Philippines and Spain. This year’s theme, “The Manila Galleon: East Meets West,” features a galleon-designed “tunnel” showcasing various activities with the food aficionado in mind. ...

μ’s Final Love Live

It’s been three days since I’ve watched μ’s Final Love Live at SM Megamall with my bros, and what I did are the following: Sang along with the songs that I know, Cheered for μ’s as wild as I can with the lightstick (I’ll refer to it as a “light blade”) that is lent to me occasionally, Had my soul cry out as they cry as well (especially during the final moments of the double encore), and Set up an event page “Iyakan sa Megamall” prior to the event (either way, we all had manly tears) based on the popular NSFW event meme. It’s really a great feeling that I was able to witness the last moments of the group, which is said to have blurred the line between reality and fantasy (hence, 2.5D), and I am still at a loss of words on how to explain it. Also, Aya Uchida (as Kotori) sure did a great job making that 2.5D happen. ...

Three Cities — 19 March 2016

It’s been a busy Saturday once more as I went to three cities today. My objective was supposed to be: To buy the same pair of shoes that I got in Recto, To visit the ToyCon Launchpad at the UP Town Center, To check out the Food Fair at the Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong, To promote the PMA Summer Expo on DZME 1530kHz AM studios in Ortigas, To check out Arkadymac’s 3rd Anniversary in Makati. So far, I’ve only done three out of five tasks over the span of 13 hours. ...

9th Philippine Cosplay Convention and MATCH Fest — 13 March 2016

It’s been a long time since my last visit to the Philippine Cosplay Convention, and now that I’ve went there, here are some photos. Actually, I don’t have a lot of great images from the PCC. The thing is, this is the first time they’ve moved from the Midtown Atrium to the Orosa Atrium, which means that they’ve expanded a year after Cosplay.ph has withdrawn their partnership with its organizer, Hobby at Worx (then called Hobbiworx). ...

Travel Tour Expo 2016

“I wish this was real.” I still dream of going abroad for vacation, you know… …so I went to the PTAA Travel Tour Expo at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay today and the first thing I saw was the Visit Japan Pavilion — and seriously, I thought that the Japan National Tourism Organization is full-force as they got the train guys, some of the airport guys, and of course the tourism guys. Also, they got AEON with them. (AEON owns Ministop, which has a Philippine license granted to Robinsons Retail Holdings. See also the AEON Credit Service that also operates locally.) ...

TEDxXavierSchool 2016

It’s been a long time since I attended a TEDx event — the first one is TEDxDiliman years ago. Thankfully, I was admitted as a participant for TEDxXavierSchool, which has held at San Juan last Saturday. A variety of speakers were selected as part of this year’s theme, “Rethink Change.” Among them was Ramon Bautista, which gave the last talk on his definition of ‘pogi’ (cool guy). While I find some of his advice off-tangent to what happened to him, I still had a good time because I was able to speak with him directly… for a few minutes. Just a few minutes are enough. ...

“Halo Halo House” revealed — to air this 16th January

I was invited by a fellow member of the Facebook group Anizone to witness a presentation at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati. From what I’ve told, the presentation will unleash a new program from Japan for the Filipino audience — Halo Halo House. (Photo: Geoffrey Kutsukawa) Ichinomiya city Mayor Masayasu Nakano (third from left) in a photo with other guests. The show is about fresh graduate Jose, who went to Japan to search for his childhood friend Erika with only one hint: a handkerchief with her name and “Ichinomiya” in it. There he finds himself in a shared house with people of different strokes — and problems — along the way. He will finally see Erika soon, but what awaits him after? ...

[Re]connecting [to] People

Here’s some of the photos that I took during the 2015 Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special last Sunday in Mandaluyong. I was really anxious if I will come inside, but if I didn’t took the risk, I won’t be much anxious as I am now. What I’m saying is that if I didn’t reconnect to the people I trust, I won’t be able to take a step towards forgiving myself. ...

#iBlog11: More than just a gathering.

It’s been days since #iBlog11 happened, and while I keep myself busy, let me tell you some of the moments that are close to me at this point in my life where I get back to square one. Ross During the first day (Friday, December 4), I was able to see Wazzup Pilipinas’ Ross del Rosario. The first time I met him in person during the Global Health Forum at the PICC. At that time, I was an intern for Rappler, and I am introducing Project Agos to him (he told me that the video of me doing so is already online and I still haven’t watched it). ...
