National Rally for Peace (January 13, 2025)

I have yet to unload the photos I captured from last week’s National Rally for Peace organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo at the Quirino Grandstand. It’s not the first time I spent time with the brethren at such a large gathering, but this one is unlike the last one I attended. This post covers the early hours of the morning of January 13 all the way until the Rally concludes and everyone goes home. This event was already broadcast to the media, so I’ll share more of my experience instead. ...

Night Shots.

Oh hi there — it’s been so long since I gave my last update. I’ve had my days when I’m salty sad, but since this is my space, we will share great, happy memories here. I’m sharing to you some photos I took with my cellphone camera from way back two to three months ago. At Hotel Jen, just near the CCP Complex. I’ve been tinkering with my phone’s camera (a Lumia 320 Dual sim), which gives options to adjust aperture and exposure, and so far, I’m good with it. I also love taking photos with light trails, and so this happened. Give it 2 seconds or 5, place it in a steady place, and watch it take cool shots. ...

Photos of the Day — July 10, 2017

Good evening! Here are some photos I took at the Likha exhibition inside SM Megamall’s Art Center. These paintings can be bought, and looking at the artist lineup, it’s no-brainer that these have high value. They are on exhibit until July 18.

S MAISON

Who would’ve thought that there’ll be a high-class mall just beside the Mall of Asia? After I visited the first Gunpla Expo Philippines, I went to S MAISON located at the Conrad Manila accessible through the SM Mall of Asia and SMX Manila bridgeways. During my visit to S MAISON, they have an art exhibit featuring the art of Jonas Roces and Christian Tamondong among others. ...

Welcome to Digongland

I thank myself for remembering that there’s a special exhibit at the SM Megamall ART Center yesterday — and it so happens that it’s an exhibition by a supporter of President Duterte. It’s called “Adventures in Digongland,” featuring artworks not just related to President Duterte, but also to current events. The artworks are bizaare and quirky, but the descriptions posted beside these artworks are funny and witty. ...

Fuente Circle, Cebu

Where I got a taste of what Lechon Cebu is like It’s nighttime at Fuentes Circle. Just got off from our event’s Day 1, and tonight, I tasted Lechon Cebu there. For Php100, we get a quarter kilos of it that can be shared by two people. If you have Php200, for the night and you’re near Fuentes Circle, get inside it. To add to that, you can listen to band music.

Photos of the Day — December 1, 2016

Well, I’m finally here — Hi, Cebu! I’m near the Fuente Circle at the moment, and I have yet to explore the rest of Cebu; but really, I’m in awe over my surroundings — I’m still wondering why newspapers have a different size than those of the daily Manila broadsheets. I may not be able to sight-see as I’m here for work, but I am happy to be here for the first time.

Today’s Photo — November 27, 2016

This is the only photo I got inside the ICITE Building at Eastwood City as Toei Animation Philippines celebrates its 30th year anniversary with a cosplay competition yesterday, November 26th. Unlike the last one held five years ago — a full Cosplay float parade, grand activity at the Eastwood City’s Central Park — this one was so simple. This is part of the celebration of Animahenasyon10 — the Philippine Animation Festival — held annually by the Animation Council of the Philippines (in which the company I’m with is part of this year’s team). ...

Today’s Photo — November 23, 2016

I took this photo at a secret socializing night at the BGC, and I can’t help but to wonder over this. This photo speaks “food is always the answer” or something like that. Tomorrow’s the last day of the Animahenasyon10 Conference, and I look forward to continuing my eventing at the ICITE Building this Saturday for TOEI Philippines’ 30th Anniversary Cosplay competition. I’ll make it a point to share the photos here before I get to Cebu. See ya!

Today’s Photo — 23 October 2016

Marlo (left) and Carlo (right) Magtibay at the Animax Carnival Philippines 2016 taken last October 16 at SMX Manila. This was supposed to be a simple Instagram post, but since I have written a long narrative, I decided to post this as part of the “Photo/s of the Day” on keepsakes. The Magtibay twins Marlo and Carlo, along with Jan Michael Buensuceso (Jamibu), are the people behind the ZEN [Otaku Honbu]. As far as I remember, I got introduced to ZEN after reading through what people are talking about TV5’s AniMEGA Block. I think I was in high school when I joined in the ZEN forums, in which the twins serve as moderators. ...
