Today’s Photo — October 7, 2016

Well, what do you know: At a Rotary event in Marikina, I saw two cosplayers as soon as I enter the venue. Turns out they were invited by a Rotary Club for an event this month. Some of you knew that I’m now a member of the Rotary Club of Mutya ng Pasig (I got inducted at the end of September), and I was really thinking that I’m in a Oregairu situation (because anime is life). Maybe this could be the case for this picture, I may say.

Photo of the day — August 31, 2016

This was shared to me by friend and outgoing instructor Adrian Salonga. The post I did during my internship at Rappler, entitled “Slow yet expensive PH Internet ‘not our fault’,” has been used as a source in our alma mater’s thesis done by IT students. With the help of Move.PH, I relayed what LIRNEasia research fellow Ms. Grace Mirandilla-Santos said to the crowd at last year’s Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4iT) at the SMX Manila. What she said there is the same thing that’s still happening now: There’s no real competition in the country’s ISP industry. ...

I’m capping off the night by doing something to de-stress myself after three days of hosting an event at Megamall — pseudo-night photography, guys? Here are some keepsakes. Happy long weekend, guys.

Photos from Taytay — 21 August 2016

The flagpole at the Rosario Ocampo Elementary in Taytay, which is among the places where I grew up. It’s been more or less a year since I visited Taytay. I really liked this place — this is where I spent three years before moving to Pasig for my Grade 5. The facade of the Rosario Ocampo Elementary School, where I spent my Grades 2, 3, and 4. ...

Greenhills, San Juan City

It’s great to see Greenhills again. It’s been a long time since I went to Greenhills — the last time I went to San Juan doesn’t even count — and it was a good opportunity to revisit the complex after I attended a Rotary Club design seminar at Club Filipino. (Note: I was the delegate for the RC Mutya ng Pasig, District 3800) Club Filipino Speaking of Club Filipino, I only knew it as the place where President Corazon Aquino took oath as the first female president of the Philippines, but it feels similar to the Makati (Sports) Club in which I’ve visited for my work. ...

Systems Integration Philippines Expo 2016

August 11, 2016 — SMX Manila I finished manning the seminar for the PRA Stores Asia Expo 2016 when I visited the SIP Expo — it’s the second time I did so — and I’m still astonished, more than ever, in the latest broadcast tech that’s there. Without further adieu, here are a plethora of photos.

Photos of the Day — 2 August 2016

After doing a trip with fellow members of the DTV Pilipinas organization at the DICT Building in Quezon City, we stopped over to the UP Town Center to discuss the aftermath and future plans for the organization. View this post on Instagram Apparently, new parts of the Town Center has just been built, and soon it will have Uniqlo and H&M in it, making it a high-class destination for the can-afford public. Here are the photos I took there. ...

Caliraya — 1 July 2016

(Also in the next segments of this post: Personal Events Calendar) I was at the Caliraya Resort Club in Laguna yesterday for our company outing, and I actually ended up getting more videos instead of the usual photos. The scenery from both sides of the Sky Bicycle route. One memorable scene there is the Sky Bicycle, where I rode a bike. All that I had to do is to close my eyes and scream when I’m in panic, and pedal all the way to the endpoint back and forth. ...

Shangri-la Plaza — 25 Jun 2016

So earlier, I stopped by the Shangri-la Plaza Mall (after I attended a seminar), and I saw this exhibit by Rustan’s and the National Commission on the Culture and the Arts (NCCA). What really tickled my fancy in the exhibit is the salakot, which is made from half of a gourd. I’ve seen the salakot before in IBC-13’s award-winning “Pinoy ang Dating” opening billboard. I don’t know if it’s really called a salakot but it’s a hat that’s common to Filipinos starting from the Spanish colonial times. ...
