“Halo Halo House” revealed — to air this 16th January

I was invited by a fellow member of the Facebook group Anizone to witness a presentation at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati. From what I’ve told, the presentation will unleash a new program from Japan for the Filipino audience — Halo Halo House. (Photo: Geoffrey Kutsukawa) Ichinomiya city Mayor Masayasu Nakano (third from left) in a photo with other guests. The show is about fresh graduate Jose, who went to Japan to search for his childhood friend Erika with only one hint: a handkerchief with her name and “Ichinomiya” in it. There he finds himself in a shared house with people of different strokes — and problems — along the way. He will finally see Erika soon, but what awaits him after? ...

Bonifacio Global City, Taguig — 9 January 2016

I was lucky enough to get a snapshot of the BGC’s biggest art installations. Take note that this was taken sideways. I went to the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig to check out the surroundings and take part in a cosplay photoshoot. Actually, I wasn’t supposed to talk about cosplay here, but I have posted some cosplay photos last year; so why not do it again? Prior to entering the BGC, I got to see Buting in Makati City. Most of you know that the BGC is in the border of Makati and Taguig. (Both cities were fighting for its possession in 2013 because of tax revenue — but this issue has settled down) ...

Pasig City — 7 January 2016

I’m glad that the city government is refurbishing its revolving tower. I hope I can get there soon. Among the places I love to frequent is the Pasig City proper, where I get to check out the City Library (and read books — I recommend reading Taipan, the book that tells stories about Lucio Tan from the people he has worked with). There’s this Precious Pages store in the vicinity of the La Immaculada Concepcion School where I saw some PSICOM how-to books on display. ...

Makati City — January 5, 2015

These are the photos that I took at Makati, still part of my journey to that thing called MyPhone My28. I’m going to make sure that I post my full review of the My28 this week.

Ortigas and Makati, 4 January 2016

Here’s what I took today. I went to the Japan Foundation Manila library as well to see their latest anime magazines (they have the latest Animage) and design inspirations (I recommend Japan Graphic Designers Association’s annual “Graphic Design in Japan” series). The last two images you see are taken from the 23rd floor of the Pacific Star building in Makati, where the JFM library is. A bit blurry, and it could be taken better, but that’s what the camera can stand for now.

Marcos Highway — January 2, 2015

Here are some photos that I took in the early morning of January 2 at the crossroads going to Antipolo, Cainta, Marikina and Pasig. I wish I could take a picture of the sunrise but there’s far too many obstacles to capture it. Maybe when I get into a high place.

On Osomatsu-san’s growth

I’ve been scrolling Crunchyroll News and I just had this thought as I do so: The rise of Osomatsu-san’s sales are actually attributed to the female demographic. That’s just based on the headlines, so let’s delve further. Although they are not giving out any specific numbers, eBook Japan reports that since Mr. Osomatsu began airing in October of 2015, sales for the original Osomatsu-kun manga have increased by over 80 times what was sold in the previous year. eBook Japan attributes the majority of these sales to the spending power of adult women and to the dedication of female anime fans known as fujoshi. [1] ...

[Re]connecting [to] People

Here’s some of the photos that I took during the 2015 Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special last Sunday in Mandaluyong. I was really anxious if I will come inside, but if I didn’t took the risk, I won’t be much anxious as I am now. What I’m saying is that if I didn’t reconnect to the people I trust, I won’t be able to take a step towards forgiving myself. ...

To App.net and Ello, 2015

This is a “write drunk, edit sober” post, in which I will have to edit later when my brain’s ready to do so. For the meantime, I’ll let you read my thoughts. How long was it when App.net opened to the public and said “We’re going to make an open, ad-free, user-backed Twitter?” They started in August 2012. How long was it when Ello said “We’re going to make a Facebook that doesn’t screw our data?” They started in March 2014. ...
