Shangri-la Plaza — 25 Jun 2016

So earlier, I stopped by the Shangri-la Plaza Mall (after I attended a seminar), and I saw this exhibit by Rustan’s and the National Commission on the Culture and the Arts (NCCA). What really tickled my fancy in the exhibit is the salakot, which is made from half of a gourd. I’ve seen the salakot before in IBC-13’s award-winning “Pinoy ang Dating” opening billboard. I don’t know if it’s really called a salakot but it’s a hat that’s common to Filipinos starting from the Spanish colonial times. ...

WCSPH National Finals in Davao this July 2

Hi everyone, Just in case you missed it, I wrote about the World Cosplay Summit Philippines’ National Finals which will be held this year in Davao. I took the move to chat with our teams from NCR, and I’ve posted it on the web log. I hope that by at least sharing this to you, we will have a trace of what’s WCSPH in the metro, as it’s mostly promoted proactively in Mindanao, and I want to do my share of promoting it here in Manila. ...

Bonifacio Global City — 18 June 2016

After composing another experimental track yesterday, I went to Bonifacio Global City to hang out with cosplayers and friends at Terra 28th, the common spot for photoshoots. Aside from us, there are two other groups of photographers hanging out inside Terra 28th, which is great. I got an invite from Allineus, whom I met at the same spot months ago. Unlike other photographers who carries with them DSLR cameras, this guy brings in his Apple iPad — and yet, he knows what he’s doing. He’s a multimedia arts graduate, and he’s fluent in Adobe applications, which made me think “I should’ve taken that course if the school I graduated to has one”. ...

Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae

The Jollibee Halo-Halo Sundae is part of the fastfood chain’s limited edition Filipino selections launched as part of the Philippine Independence Day celebration this June. (The other one is the Adobo Flakes Yum! Burger, which has lower reception compared to this dessert, I think.) It’s the usual Jollibee Sundae topped with Halo-Halo toppings. After eating one last Tuesday, I ate one more the following day, and one more last Thursday. ...

“The Secret Lives of Books” Exhibit — 3 June 2016

In celebration of the 20th year anniversary of the Filipinas Heritage Library, an exhibit called “The Secret Lives of Books” by artist and designer Karl Castro. This exhibit is free admission, so I took my time to get inside and take mementos, in which I got the permission of the security personnel beforehand. Inside the exhibit, there are stories of Karl’s involvement in the works of notable writers Ricky Lee and Antoinette Jadaone, as well as his design works published in the Philippine Collegian of the University of the Philippines. ...

O-Kun Fiesta 2 — June 5, 2016

Looks like I am really on a roll today. I’m going to show you the mementos that I took on the second day of O-Kun Fiesta 2 at the Function Hall 3 of SMX Manila yesterday, June 5. The Otaku Asia Magazine, from which this event is based from, is three years old (their partner Arkadymac is a bit older though, nudge nudge). They got a lot of guests, including the cosplay group Tonari no Tsuns and Little Things’ Ivyree Rosario. I’m going to set aside the fine print and go straight ahead with the photos. ...

We stayed the whole time at Bo’s Coffee for the said activity, and I was able to try their hot Matcha Latte, which costs ₱150. Here’s my short impressions on it: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jay Agonoy (@jayagonoycom) ...

All the food and drinks from Blogapalooza

Hello, guys. I was supposed to pull this post up last week if not for me overworking myself, so before I go back to bed, here’s a quick recap of all the food and drinks that I’ve had from last week’s “Blogapalooza: Horizons” in Quezon City. Arla / Cocio Arla and Cocio are distributed by the same company in the country, Fly Ace Corporation, from Denmark. Prior to drinking Cocio, one of my friends recommended it, and his recommendation is not a joke at all. At a price range of Php60 to Php70, I guess this one’s worth its taste and price. ...
