Jellyfish Education’s Nihongo class

https://www.facebook.com/JellyfishEducationPhilippines/posts/1491994624150536:0 Has anyone remembered when I went to the Japan Education and Culture Fair at the Decagon last September? Its organizer Jellyfish Education Consultancy got in touch with me with more information about their Nihongo Class. Reading through the info provided to me, “This program is an international based curriculum through the coordination of Tochigi International Education Institute. It is a 30 hour class of Japanese language led by a native Japanese sensei. The objective of this is to educate the people about the importance of learning Nihongo not only for use in Japan but to improve their competitive advantage in a global level.” ...

The Pasig Revolving Tower reopens after three decades.

Here’s what you may have missed from this precious landmark I posted pictures from January here, and one of the photos I’ve posted is about a landmark in the City of Pasig. Never in my wildest dreams will I get to step inside that tower that I’m just looking from far away. The Rotary Club of Mutya ng Pasig, of which I am a member, was invited by the City Government to partake in the half-day filled with awe and nostalgia. ...

Today’s Photo — November 27, 2016

This is the only photo I got inside the ICITE Building at Eastwood City as Toei Animation Philippines celebrates its 30th year anniversary with a cosplay competition yesterday, November 26th. Unlike the last one held five years ago — a full Cosplay float parade, grand activity at the Eastwood City’s Central Park — this one was so simple. This is part of the celebration of Animahenasyon10 — the Philippine Animation Festival — held annually by the Animation Council of the Philippines (in which the company I’m with is part of this year’s team). ...

Today’s Photo — November 23, 2016

I took this photo at a secret socializing night at the BGC, and I can’t help but to wonder over this. This photo speaks “food is always the answer” or something like that. Tomorrow’s the last day of the Animahenasyon10 Conference, and I look forward to continuing my eventing at the ICITE Building this Saturday for TOEI Philippines’ 30th Anniversary Cosplay competition. I’ll make it a point to share the photos here before I get to Cebu. See ya!

Watch me look for star patterns

Part of the Animax Carnival Philippines 2016 is the Anime Pavilion where we play booth games, such as this Twin Star Exorcists-themed game in which I have to find as much star patterns as possible.

Budget Eats Map?

Hi guys! First of all, I don’t have much updates to share with you at the moment, but I would like to introduce you to a side-project that I did a long time ago. I’ll make this quick for everyone, I promise. The map above was rendered over GitHub gists and uses the GeoJSON format, as follows: { "type": "FeatureCollection", "features": [ { "type": "Feature", "properties": { "marker-color": "#7e7e7e", "marker-size": "medium", "marker-symbol": "star-stroked", "name": "KFC", "offering": "Flavor Shots a la carte, Php50" }, "geometry": { "type": "Point", "coordinates": [ -239.01712238788605, 14.534527915006434 ] } } ] } The list contains the meals that cosplayers can afford, and the plotting was done manually. If you know a place inside Mall of Asia (or in places where there are cosplay events), let me know on Twitter (@jayagonoy — photos with the price do a big help on this) so we can track them down. ...

Today’s Photo — 23 October 2016

Marlo (left) and Carlo (right) Magtibay at the Animax Carnival Philippines 2016 taken last October 16 at SMX Manila. This was supposed to be a simple Instagram post, but since I have written a long narrative, I decided to post this as part of the “Photo/s of the Day” on keepsakes. The Magtibay twins Marlo and Carlo, along with Jan Michael Buensuceso (Jamibu), are the people behind the ZEN [Otaku Honbu]. As far as I remember, I got introduced to ZEN after reading through what people are talking about TV5’s AniMEGA Block. I think I was in high school when I joined in the ZEN forums, in which the twins serve as moderators. ...

Animax Carnival Philippines 2016

The anime event of 2016. Period. I thought of posting a big photo collection from this event held last October 15 and 16 at SMX Manila, but this one’s so good that I might as well discuss my best moments from there. Animax’s Anime Lineup: These boards served as sources of information on Animax’s lineup, and as backdrop for cosplayers and photographers. One ticket, two days I’ve never expected something like this can happen in the country’s local anime convention scene: One ticket is good for two days (you’ll be hearing more and more of this phrase so bear with me for a moment). This seems too good to be true, but it was possible! Rather, they made this possible! I’d like to attribute this factor to Animax’s parent company Sony Pictures Entertainment’s generosity. ...

Europe’s Mainstream Animations

I list down some of Europe’s creations that went on to mainstream popularity Eponine posted a few photos on her Facebook that triggered my nostalgia as a kid who collects issues of kids’ magazines. Now that I thought of it, I read on series that are made in Europe during my childhood, and on this post I’ll list the series I knew, and my thoughts on each of them. ...
